BUILDING & PROPERTY MAINTENANCE

This instructional program prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills in the maintenance and repair of residential, office, apartment, and other commercial buildings.

The instruction includes the basics of carpentry, millwork, plumbing, glazing, electricity, plastering, welding, minor sheet metal, concreting, bricklaying, tile setting, hardware usage, heating, ventilation, waterproofing, roofing, and record keeping. Building/property maintenance is an ideal program for students who possess an inquisitive nature, enjoy varied tasks, and being physically active. Students are prepared for entry-level work or post-secondary education.

Message
This course covers a variety of skills required within the construction and manufacturing industries. It is difficult but rewarding. By completing the course of study, students will be able to find employment in a variety of careers. The opportunity also exists for students to pursue post-secondary programs.
