CABINETMAKING
This diverse course prepares its graduates with the necessary skills required of today’s cabinetmaker. Special emphasis is placed on developing an appreciation for fine craftsmanship and the design and creation of furniture and cabinetry. Since cabinetmaking is a primary component to all woodworking and millwork, its basic skills and knowledge are needed by most people who work with wood and wood products. The program stresses the care and safe use of the hand tools and powered machinery used in the production of cabinets, furniture, and general millwork.
