Business, Marketing & DISTRIBUTION

This program provides instruction in the field of marketing and distribution. It covers all necessary activities to run a business.  It is a study of all the activities and concepts concerned with the flow of industrial and consumer goods in channels of trade and the provision of services to consumers or users. This program is concerned with marketing, sales, distribution, merchandising, management, and ownership of a business. This course prepares individuals to perform marketing functions such as: selling, buying, pricing, advertising, storing, and marketing management. In addition, this program includes emphasis on technical knowledge of products and services; related communication and computation skills; and abilities and attitudes associated with human relations in private enterprise. Students will utilize various computer programs including a point of sale system, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Publisher.

As a Business Marketing and Distribution student at RMCTC you will have the opportunity to earn industry certifications from the National Occupational Competency Institute, ASK - Assessing Knowledge and Skills in Marketing and the National Retail Federation.  Program graduates have the ability to enter into employment and post-secondary education.  To gain employment in the field of Marketing Management, post secondary education is required.

Biography
I have taught at RMCTC for over 15 years.  I am a DECA advisor and a PA DECA Board of Trustee Member.  I have attended the Governor's Institute for Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening, Governor's Institute for Math and Governor's Institute for Career & Technology Education.  I have attended various workshops with Southern Region Education Board and Technology Centers That Work.

Education
Earned a Master of Science Degree in Career, Instruction and Technology Education from Temple University. 
Earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing Education from Temple University with an Instructional II permanent teaching certificate.

Adjunct Teacher at Reading Area Community College, Substitute Teacher, Middle Bucks CTC and 10 years of retail experience.

Interests
I love to travel and enjoy scrapbooking pictures. Home improvement projects can also be a lot of fun. I like to sit down and watch a good movie and occasionally, I cross stitch.
