Baking
This baking class is 30 hours of instruction covering the basics of baking, cake decorating, and the functions of a professional bake shop. The theory behind different baking methods will be covered, including basic cake decorating, tips and their uses, roses, and uses of rolled fondant. We will also be producing unique cakes for special occasions, flavorful yeast breads, and sweet dough for pastries. Students will be able to take home their finished creations to share with their families and co-workers.

Culinary
In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of food preparation. They will be engaged in kitchen and knife safety while preparing a variety of dishes. In addition to learning how to prepare food items, students will learn how to sauté, stir-fry, grill, roast, prepare garnishes, and plate food in an attractive presentation. This course will also guide students to prepare foods in a safe manner while using ServSafe techniques. Introduction to Culinary Arts is a 30-hour course that is designed to prepare students for household cooking, as well as prepare them for employment opportunities in food services.

Floral Design
This course is designed to teach the basics of floral design to the beginning floral student. In each class, we will discuss a new design skill in theory and then have a hands-on product to take home. Proper design, scale, and techniques are taught every week emphasizing your creative eye.

Sewing
This course will be an introduction to basic sewing skills. Learn to sew using industrial sewing machines. You will learn how to thread machines, basic seams, and techniques needed to make your own garments and other items from beginning to end. By the end of this course, you will have several finished projects.

Welding – Certificate Program
Designed for the beginning welder, this course is customized to meet the students’ needs. Students who complete this rigorous program may acquire expertise in safety, shielded metal arc welding (stick), gas metal arc welding (MIG), oxy-fuel cutting, and plasma cutting. The course covers the welding process, the set-up of welding machines, welding terms, metal identification, safety, and tools.
